1. Overview

IndTrain ("we", "our", the "Service") is a free, independent Indian Railways information website operated at indtrain.in. This policy explains what information the Service collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We do not require an account and do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number or address.

  • Search queries. Train numbers, station codes, routes and PNR numbers you look up are processed to return results. PNR lookups are transient: a PNR is used to fetch its status and is not stored against you or your device.
  • Server logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
  • Local storage. Small preferences (such as your last selected station) may be stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. You can clear these any time via your browser settings.

3. Cookies and Advertising

The Service displays advertising delivered by Google AdSense and potentially other third-party advertising partners to support the free service.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which tools are used most, so we can improve them. Analytics data is used in aggregate form and is not used to identify individual visitors.

5. Data Retention

Server logs are retained only for a limited period needed for security and diagnostics, after which they are automatically deleted. We do not build profiles of users and do not sell data to anyone.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is a general-audience information tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Third-Party Services & Data Sources

Train schedules, fares, live running status and PNR information are retrieved from third-party railway data providers. We present this data for informational purposes only and cannot guarantee its accuracy. Your use of those upstream services is not governed by this policy.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not maintain user accounts, there is generally no personal data held about you to export or delete. If you believe otherwise — for example you contacted us by email — write to us and we will delete the correspondence on request. You may also have rights under applicable law (such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) regarding personal data; contact us to exercise them.

We may update this policy as the Service evolves (for example, if advertising partners change). Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
